no not really.
Mastering sure is hard but there are A lot Different Ways to do it and It Always Depends on the Track.
so its not really Rocket Science its just about the Knowledge u have.

I called it rocket science in order to disencourage beginners from dwelling into something so advanced when they often need to focus on easier things more within their level of knowledge.

Yeah, because for someone at the level of being in contact with labels it can come in handy, but when you barely can cut the mud away from a bassline, mastering would just fuck your shit up and make you confused...

I've also found this (LONG) text abouth synths and as you have described that you'll have to get nice with synths to get nice with hardstyle, here's the guide,
