There has been a poll for children younger than 16 years in the city I'm currently living in, showing that 50% would vote for them, showing once again that their aggressive Tiktok advertising had a huge success and they are likely to increase numbers in the years to come.
Meanwhile, part of their top members are openly speaking against a multi-party-system, remigration of all foreigners and sympathisers while using nazi vocabulary and playing down the cruelties of the SS. Should I be worried about bullshit-populism working so well? This coming from a country with one of the largest economies world-wide feels like a bad joke.
Bro same in France, Rassemblement National is about to ace the European elections and it’s not even close :(

Fuck the right-wing politicians

Edited a bit. I don't really blame the people who vote for those too much because the right wing propaganda we get on mainstream news channels is unfortunately very effective. You'd think we live in a warzone listening to the news

many factors at play

Still feels like a bad joke when you see what "good" came from Germany turning right in the past
Interesting to see that the AfD became too right for the other parties in the right European coalition

Macron dissolved the Parliament, this madman fucking did it.

Gotta vote in 3 weeks, but France is most likely gonna have a far right Parliament and a far right government :(

Yet another mix of opportunists and racists with even more unrealistic empty promises based on "alternative facts". How can you still win votes with arguments like the good old "foreigners steal your job" in Europe? :+ The fans will probs blame other parties for their own fuck ups to come. Putin likes this.

Good to see Macron's reaction tho. Surely something Scholz won't consider

I feel like Macron is trying to play some 4D chess here and pull a 'let them get in power NOW so that people will see that these people are complete fucking morons during these 3 years and their support starts to decline before the next presidential election' . Whether this sort of accelerationism will work I doubt very much. Just remember how it ended up for UK when Cameron tried to pull a similar big brain move to defeat the anti-EU sentiment in his own party/in the country by calling for the brexit referendum. He did prove his point at the end of the day, but at what cost, it basically took turning UK into a total dumpster fire and it was way too late to reverse the damage once everyone realised it.

In other news, I'm quite happy that in Slovakia, the opposition Progressive party won (despite the far right parties gaining more MEPs alltogether) and that in Poland fucking PIS ended up second, for the first time in.... well, many many years, with the election basically confirming the current government's result from last years elections. The fascist party did get a tad too many votes though, but looking at France or NL it could have been much worse. Really interesting to see a potential future challenger of Orban rising in Hungary these elections too. Czech republic a total fucking dumpster fire, watch this country - they are holding a general election next year and if the trends will continue, they will likely end up as yet another V4 country with a far right anti-ukrainian government. AfD second in Germany is concerning, but at least they ended up way behind some of the projections.

if this is actually true what you've said then Macron is heading towards his complete political suicide and will never wash down that he supports the far-right because giving them the opportunity to govern is exactly that right? what if they actually get stronger? just say "oops" and that's it? also far-right parties are not simply out of a bunch of morons but a bunch of harmful morons AND take use of these opportunities "cleverly". they're dangerous. never give them power to play a silly political game because you drag a whole country into an even shittier situation than before
