Re: The melody thread (Give feedback before posting yours)
NRx: reminds me of the older Toneshifterz melodies, I really like it. There's no issue I can mention

@The Convicted
I like your first melody the best. Has an old school feel to it. Excited to see if you progress with it in any way.
Number two is nothing special and I feel like number three is too repetitive.

Haven't posted here in a really really long time, but I've started to produce a bit of hardstyle again.

Total beginner warning!
With the aid of my friend I finally got one melody alive.
Did some work on it tonight. This is what I got.
I KNOW there's something useful there and I want to use it.
Its just raw melody thats all there is + some arp + piano mushed together that I'm not sure if they ever work together or not... or whatever.......
Feedback on anything is key. I know there's mistakes in there, just let me know

@emperact sounds a bit like handsup but it's decent
some sketchy hardcore melodies
some sketchy hardcore melodies
Purpose, thou art the compass.
@Soundphase I think the second melody is better than the first one. Maybe add a little more variaton to both of those and they should work just fine
Here is something I made very quickly. Any feedback is good
Just made the base melody and adding more variation and such later. If this is going to be a project

@Soundphase i agree with Seamlezz i like the second one better. And for the first one the same maybe try add a couple variations here and there, i don't think it necessarily needs much, a little might do it.
@Seamlezz I think the melody is pretty cool. I'd say make it in to a project
sounds so nice already i bet with some more work and tweaking it could turn out really nice. I think it works really good with the bass line. Don't really know what to say, i believe in a finished project it will work, like you said, some variation but i think some of it comes naturally from just creating the song, unless you were thinking of makeing one of those songs where the melody is somehow always present
Here's something i worked on yesterday, all feedback is highly appreciated!
What do you guys think i should do with it?

@FinnState I really like the melody. I think I wouldn't change any notes or anything. Only thing I would add is some vibration or something for the main lead (for the long notes). I think it would make it a little bit better. And of course it's just my opinnionFinnState wrote:@Soundphase i agree with Seamlezz i like the second one better. @Seamlezz , I've got to say it's pretty damn catchy! Some quick personal opinions though, I would add a stab lead, raising the cutoff until the drop. Also, if you take the tail of your kick and reverse it, put it before the kick hits in adds a little emphasis to the end of a build and sounds great! but yeah, I love the melody & the synth sounds great! has good potential for a track, keep it up
Now, I'm having trouble with my melody in my track, I just don't think it sounds full/fat enough and not sure what to do about it.... (the volume, effects on everything aint perfect ATM because I haven't finished the mixdown)
Literally any suggestions are appreciated, (even if you think it's complete S**T) let me know what you think!

@David
I think the word "Fall" doesnt really fit the melody.
Could be me but it sounds a bit off
For the melody you should put more reverb on it.
Cool idea like it!

@davidmartin the melody starts playing with notes that are an octave over the kick and because of that it makes it less interesting, try thirds/fifths/ or the II, IV (from the root) to make it more musical, vocal needs to be pitched up
thinking of doing tracks with these, I like them but would like to know what you think.. hardcore melodies as you might have guessed
