I really don't know what makes people choose for that Showtek track, did you guys even listen to the releases this year? There's sooo many tracks that are better.. but yeah, if 99% of modern hardstyle isn't your taste anymore, I kinda understand the vote, but still.. it's so mid for me, that tune.

Dear Hardstyle is not only an amazing track but an example of how we could still get classic sounding tracks in the mainstream. That track is what I fell in love with in every aspect.

Alot of the people in this sub are long time listeners of the genre. When we had the glory days of nu-style kicks and melodies that are still iconic to us nowadays.

I speak for myself here but I'm personally fed up with some of the raw scene. Trying to go harder everytime with fake drops, stupid zaagkicks, 2 minute tracks and much much more. This stuff is great for live events for that shock that the crowd want but when your not at events, it's not something I personally want to listen to on the bus to work.

The showtek track for lots of us is going back to that classic style of hardstyle which we all love and that's why lots of us are voting for it I think. Well that's just my opinion.

Yeah I get that - but I started listening in 2005ish aswell, and even with that in mind, I think that track is way too mid to be #1. There are better choices even in the non-raw/fakedrop part of the genre in my opinion, but yeah, as we all know, we can argue about taste forever but taste is gonna be taste
