Headhunterz @ Stereosonic 2014

Post by vlex26 »

So Headhunterz is playing at Stereosonic 2014. A little surprised but it doesn't make much sense to me. I mean, he is touring America and attending house festivals to introduce more people to hardstyle but Australia already has a very active hardstyle community...seems pointless. Should have just attended DQ1 Aus, at least there would have been people who actually appreciate his music. :dunno:

This, I thought it was common knowledge that he got bored of hardstyle and moved on?

I guess HHZ Australia Day event may have been his last decent hardstyle set in Aus. I'll probably still go to his set out of curiosity mostly, If it ends up being shit (which i imagine it will) ill just leave and go see someone else. Keen to see Tiesto, Noisia, Showtek and Carl Cox.

I don't agree with this. I'd say he's being booked in the States because the sound he represents is becoming more popular. You don't get booked to introduce people to a sound, you get booked to sell tickets. To me this explains exactly why it makes sense for him to appear at Stereo - especially given, as you said, that we have an active hardstyle community. An active hardstyle community means more interest in the festival if they book a harder act than if they, say, added another house dj. Add to this the fact that his music had degenerated enough to be consumed by the masses of Stereo, and I'm not surprised to see him on the bill at all. Really, it was inevitable in the end.

Quite a few names I'd like to see though. I think i'll probably be too poor to go unfortunately haha.

Expect 146 bpm of mostly new tracks and other shit like that.
Left his performance here after 13 minutes of just a psychedelic dragonborn mash up, that macklemore bootleg, moshpit, and then colors. Eeeeugh
